May 14th

Well, folks, it's been a while! Apologies for the lack of news items in recent weeks, but fear not! The Adams Jovi Experience is alive, kicking and going from strength to strength! In fact, we've been busier than ever, playing up and down the country and also developing a new theatre show, which will see the light of day in August/September. As always, we've been fortunate to do some great gigs over the last few months, so many, many thanks for all those who came to see us! A particular thank you goes to Colin Edwards, who wrote a wonderful review of our gig at the Stiwt Theatre in Rhos and even got us a mention on Planet Rock; and the good people of Evesham, most of whom seemed to be up on stage with us at the gig at Evesham Arts Centre. We look forward to seeing you all again soon... and I promise we won't leave it this long between news items in future! Ciao!!!

Cheers!

January 30th

Warning to Warner's... we'll be back!

The band played the first of the Warner's Hotel gigs at the beautiful Thoresby Hall Hotel near Ollerton, Nottinghamshire on Saturday. We played an extended Bryan Adams set only, which was great fun for us and also went down a storm with the weekend residents. Many thanks for all those who filled the 450-seater auditorium... you certainly were a great crowd! Thanks also to Graham, who did a brilliant job on sound... We look forward to the next Warner's Hotel gig in Berkshire on the 18th of May!

January 23rd

2012 simply couldn't have got off to a better start for the band... a 700 capacity crowd packed into the Robin 2 in Bilston made it one helluva night. Many thanks to all those who came to see us... we very much hope to be back there in the summer.

The band has also been invited to play at the French TribFest in the Loire Valley, France on the 26th of May, which is a huge honour! We will also be playing on the main stage at TribFest in Yorkshire on the 19th of August, so we're seriously looking forward to that too! The full line up for each festival will be posted here as soon as it is finalised...

2012

December 30th

The gig at Alexander's in Chester last Thursday was a fitting end to a great year for the band with a packed venue and heaving dance floor. Particular thanks go to the group from Tesco, who chose our gig their Christmas night out and, by all accounts, thoroughly enjoyed themselves! We hope all our fans had a great Christmas and New Year break and, once again, we look forward to seeing you in 2012!

A very Merry Christmas from the Adams Jovi Experience - Todd, Ian, Lionel, Julian and Chris!!!

Here's wishing all our fans a very Merry Christmas and Health and Happiness for 2012!

2011 has been a great year for the band with 72 mega successful gigs played nationwide. A very big THANK YOU to everyone who has supported us by coming to the shows. We look foward to seeing you all again next year!

New theatre show...

The band will be working on a new theatre production in January which will hit the road in June/July... keep an eye open for "The Rockin' Gay Cheez Show"... it's gonna be awesome and then some...

December 3rd

It's been a while, folks! Holidays have kept us off the road for several weeks now but we were back this weekend with a bang! And what a great weekend it was! A superb crowd of singing voices and some very alluring dancers at The Roadhouse in Birmingham on Friday, followed by a trip to stunning Cumbria and the whole of Cleator Moor Celtic Football Club dancing on the tables on Saturday night. Thanks to everyone at both gigs for making us feel so welcome!

A little late maybe, but unfortunately we have to announce the departure of our keyboard player, James Corbett, who has been tempted away by the world of jazz. We wish you all the very best with your musical endeavours, James, and thank you for your outstanding contribution to the band over the last year or so. Sincere thanks also go to Mark "Fingers" Braddock and Graham Iles for helping us out on keyboards over the last couple of months. The band will now continue as a four-piece, with our very own multi-instrumentalist, Bon Todi Edwards, tinkling the ivories as well as playing guitar.

September 7th

A well deserved break...

Following the gig this coming Saturday in Cardigan, South Wales, the band will be taking a well deserved six week break. As welcome as it will be to have a rest, I'm sure our fingers will be itching and feet tapping with impatience to get back on the road well before the second weekend comes along though...we'll see you all soon!

Guitar Lessons...

Our very own "Smokin'" Ian Aird will be imparting his immaculate technique during an eight week Rock, Blues and Classical Guitar course which begins on the 20th of September at the Rhosnesni School:

7.00pm-9.00pm Rhosnesni School Rhosnesni Lane Wrexham LL13 9ET Tel: 01978-340840

Good luck with the course, Ian!

Another great weekend for the band...

Two superb gigs over the weekend. The Moses Gate in Bolton on Friday, where you certainly won't find a friendlier bunch, and Brymbo Sports and Social Club on Saturday, which ended up, as usual, with the majority of the crowd on stage with us...great stuff!!!

July 26th

Isle of Wight Faux Fest 2011

The band had a wonderful time this weekend at Faux Fest on the beautiful Isle of Wight. Not only was there great camaraderie amongst the class acts appearing there, but the hospitality received from the organisers, headed up by Cheryl Clark, was second to none...great hotel, great food and, of course, the odd beer or two...real rock star treatment! The ferry journey was a blast too! Thanks, Isle of Wight, we hope it's not too long before we return to your welcoming embrace!

July 11th

It's extremely rare for the band to play at a wedding, but we were delighted to be invited along to Rob and Ayesha's special day at the Willington Hall Hotel on Saturday. At the request of the bride and groom, Todd and James did an acoustic version of "You're Still Beautiful to Me" for the newly-weds' first dance, bringing tears to the eyes of guests and band members alike! April 20th

"One of the best nights in the history of the band took place last Saturday at Kirkymoorside Golf Club, just on the edge of the North Yorkshire Moors. Though we say it ourselves, I think it is fair to comment that we moved to another level in our quest for musical excellence, combined as always with our determination put on a highly entertaining show whilst not taking ourselves too seriously. The people who came to see us were nothing short of wonderful, as testified by the impromptu sing-song between the band and fans that went on into the small hours, with James tinkling away on the keys. Of course it is a most beautiful part of the world... to be honest, we can't wait to be invited back!"

April 15th

Updated photo gallery...

Janury 9th 2011

It is with great sadness to inform everyone , that my Mother passed away Saturday morning. She loved the Band and she used to regularly tell me that Bryan Adams sounds like Todd (always made me laugh when she said that.)

This is little poem that applies to us all.

It must be borne in mind that the tragedy of life doesn't lie in not reaching your goal. The tragedy lies in having no goal to reach

It is not a calamity to die with dreams unfulfilled. But it is a calamity not to dream.

It is not a disaster to be unable to capture your ideal, but it is a disaster to have no ideal to capture.

It is not a disgrace not to reach the stars, but it is a disgrace not to have stars to reach for.

Not failure, but low aim is a sin.

Gig Review by Shaun Best

“Can’t stop this thing we started.” A fitting opening for Bryan Adams tribute act 18 Til I Die.

Playing anything and everything from the Canadian Icon’s back catalogue, the Wrexham based quintet roll back the years during two 45 minute sets.

On a cold Thursday night in Alexanders, a quaint little bar in Chester, the crowd that had gathered were welcomed to Bryan Adams 2009. Alongside the familiar sounds, the band have put their own contemporary “punchy”, “rock” style on each of the songs. This is most evident in “Heaven,” as lead guitarist Ian Aird brings it in with a short guitar solo, adding some dimension to the much-covered classic. Despite the small crowd, the band pulled out all the stops, pouring their heart and soul into each song, demonstrating great professionalism, timing and infectious enthusiasm which spread to the crowd.

Borrowing heavily from the 1991 hit album “Waking Up The Neighbours,” popular classics like “Cuts Like A Knife” and “Summer of 69” had Alexanders singing along, thumping their feet and clapping in accordance.

What separates 18 Til I Die from many other tribute acts, is they have the look and sound down to a tee. This is portrayed in the doppelganger of the lead singer, Todd Edwards. At only 19, he has perfected the legendary raspy lyrical tone, replicating it perfectly, and with sincerity in songs such as “Cloud Number 9” and “Everything I Do.” Bassist Gaz Edmunds and Drummer Adam Southwick also add to the appeal of a younger audience. Complimenting the youthful front are seasoned veterans Aird and Mark Cotterill on keyboards. Having spent years of touring on the holiday circuit, the experience they bring gives perfect balance to the band.

The unmistakeable, easily recognisable guitar riffs in “Run To You” and “Kids Wanna Rock” are faultlessly duplicated by Aird and Edmunds. It was like having two Keith Scott’s in the room. Southwick was mesmerising on the drums, pounding away, putting on a masterclass that Travis Barker (Blink 182, +44) would have been proud of. Southwick has been involved for just over a year.

In true rock ‘n’ roll fashion, when the mics were turned up, Edwards was truly able to showcase his vocal talents, in addition to strumming along on his own fender. When he wasn’t playing to the crowd, Edwards was involving Aird and Edmunds, who doubled up as backing singers, with mini guitar face-offs. The camaraderie on-stage reflected just how much these rockers love to entertain.

Engineer Chris Holland was the mastermind behind the scenes, responsible for the impressive lighting and production display. His work behind-the-scenes dealing with sound, photography and artwork has led to the band christening him as a “sixth member.”

Continuing a trend of other touring bands, one other cover was played. Billy Idol’s version of “Mony Mony” was met favourably, before the band signed off, leaving ears ringing with “18 Til I Die.”

A much anticipated CD release with all the relevant licenses has been put on hold for now. Instead, the band are focused on completing a live concert video. Footage for this will be attained from this summer’s Tribfest Event. Tribfest is a celebrated tribute act show, taking place in East Yorkshire from 21st-23rd August. Over 10,000 fans are expected. The band will take to the stage on the 23rd alongside acts representing Lynyrd Skynyrd and Kings of Leon.

I may not have been around in the summer of 69, but I know where I’ll be in the summer of 2009.
